As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a baby walk into the ocean wave for the first time. He was frightened, but nevertheless he took the steps into the water.

All of us face times when we feel fear about doing a particular thing. Perhaps the Lord has prompted you to step out and do something, and the devil is trying to keep you from doing it. This verse provides a clear and simple solution: Fear not, don't run, and God will help you.

When you are faced with fear, rather than bowing your knee to it you must stand firm, knowing that God will help you.

Even if your knees are shaking, your mouth is dry, and you feel as though you are getting weak, just keep saying, "Lord, strengthen me. This is what you have told me to do, and with Your help I am going to do it because it is Your revealed will for me.

Exodus 14:13 -- "Fear not; stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I met one person with a dog that was 86 dog years old, and another tiny puppy that was 11 weeks old.

I thought of our span of life on this earth... and how short it is! We have such a short time to make a difference in the lives of those we meet every day in life. It reminded me that we are only a vapor of mist as we walk through this life. It seems much longer as we go through the daily activities of life, but His Word brings us to the reality of the short time we have here on earth.

Doesn't that make you want to make every moment of life count? Doesn't it make you want to put aside wasted thoughts and actions? Doesn't it make you reconsider how you spend your short time given here on earth? It should!

Remember, God has a plan for your life and He knows how long you have to live. Decide today that you will not waste the gift of life you have been given! Your Father has put you here to be a blessing in the earth! That is our gift to give back to Him.

James 4:14 -- "For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a time and then vanishes away."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I realized the pelicans in the ocean just seem to float with the waves, riding with ease, not fighting or being anxious. They are totally surrendered to the motion of the waves and never ever seem to have an anxious thought!

This turned my thoughts to humans, and how we seem to fight surrendering to anything. We always seem to want our way, our will... which is the exact opposite of what Jesus said, "Not my will, but thine."

The more of God's divinity I touch, the more I need Him and the less I rely on myself. As I surrender myself to Him, self-reliance diminishes. I choose to surrender to God every moment of the day in my house, in my business, in every trial and temptation. My heart's desire is to surrender more fully, but I realize I cannot do this. So it is the Holy Spirit working in me not only to will but to carry out His plans for my life!

Let's surrender all we have and all we are to His plans this day! He knows what is best and can do what only He can do! It will be like taking a ride on the ocean waves... enjoy the ride!

Jeremiah 29:11 -- "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for success and hope, not for failure!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, a sand shark had been captured and lay dead on the beach. It was sad to see him out of his element of life, the wonderful ocean.

We are like that when we get out of our place in this life. We become isolated, cut off from the vine of life with Jesus. Then we die inside. What a sad thought for anyone of us -- to be isolated from the love and life that Jesus provides for us every day. We protect the life He has given us by staying connected with His Word and other believers so the enemy cannot distract us and kill us. Remember, we have an enemy that wants to kill, steal and destroy our lives so we become ineffective for the Kingdom of God.

Today as you walk your seashore of life, stay in the river of life. Stay close to Jesus and be saturated with His Word. That is our lifeline and the enemy can't touch us when we are closely connected to our Savior.

John 10:10 -- "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I remembered it is not good to walk too early on the beach alone, when no one is there to be sure you are in a safe place.

We have to be the same way with our spirits. We must guard against the attacks of the enemy. Suppose you knew your house was surrounded by enemy agents and at any moment they might break through the door and attack you. Do you think you would be inclined to stay awake and watch the door?

You need to be just as careful to guard against any potential attacks from the enemy of your soul. The devil is out to get you, and you must watch and pray at all times, asking God to help you when you feel weak.

Ask God to provide the strength you need to overcome any temptation the devil brings your way! Be alert and be diligent -- we have an enemy that is always seeking to see whom he may devour! But you are in a safe place with the Father who loves you!

Matthew 26:41 -- "Keep awake, and watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a child walk along the dunes, trying to balance himself to keep from falling down the incline. He was very well balanced.

It reminded me that as a Christian, we must balance our spiritual life with our earthly responsibilities. Some people have a "religious spirit" that causes them to either ignore their earthly tasks or to do them without joy. These people only feel approved by God when they are doing what they think are "spiritual things."

God wants us to learn that we can communicate with and enjoy Him while doing a number of earthly chores. He wants you to know you can talk with Him throughout the day as well as on bended knee. He is ever present and always available to fellowship with you and to help with your needs... no matter where we are or what we are doing. Isn't that a wonderful thing to know?

So today as you walk your seashore of life, be balanced and continue to live your life to the fullest, knowing you have a Father that is with you in whatever you are doing! Enjoy His fellowship and stay well balanced in all things.

1 Corinthians 10:31 -- "Then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched the people on the beach. They were all on vacation, playing, not worrying about anything.

That is the way God wants us to live our lives, trusting Him, and not worrying. Many people worry about everything, including what they will or will not eat or wear, or what they will do if a particular situation occurs.

Most of us have enough clothes, adequate food, comfortable houses, and serviceable cars. But when things get tough and you are faced with situations that seem impossible, the devil says, "What are you going to do now?" The temptation comes to worry but that isn't the answer.

God wants you to know that worrying doesn't add to your life -- in fact, it will surely shorten it if you make it a habit. Your heavenly Father knows about all the things you need before you ask Him. So stop worrying and focus your attention on the one who is able to provide everything you need, and more.

Matthew 6:25, 27 -- "Stop being perpetually uneasy about your life... who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure to his stature or to the span of his life?"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I came upon a sea shell that had a tiny creature hiding I it! It was covered and protected by the covering of the shell... he was safe inside.

We are that way with the devil, we have to on our armor! When the devil comes against you, you must have on the complete armor of God if you are to resist the devil and do all God wants you to do.

You must realize that what you do to overcome one crisis may not be the best way to handle the next crisis. The solution to your problem is not in a certain method or procedure, but in the power God gives you to accomplish what He directs you to do. When you deal with a crisis, the key is not in your method but in unleashing the power of God through faith. So wear God's armor, stand your ground against the devil, lift up the shield of faith, and see how God will bring the victory.

Ephesians 6:13 -- "Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day, and having done all to stand."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, a tiny bird rested on a reed on the sand dunes singing his heart out, making beautiful sounds echoing on the beach.

I wondered how many of us are singing our hearts out to the creator, the way this tiny bird seemed to be doing. What is coming out of our mouths? Are we being a blessing or a curse with our words? Are we singing praise daily or are we finding fault, and grumbling about how life is treating us?

I want to mimic this tiny creature and sing praises to the Savior of my soul! I want to be a blessing and not a curse with all that comes out of my heart and mouth! That is my prayer daily, to be a blessing to all God puts in my path!

Let's make this declaration together today! Let's declare that we will praise Him with our hearts every day! It is your choice!

Psalm 103: 1 -- "Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, everything seems to be pointing toward an even more exciting season in the Spirit. The sky is bright blue today, the ocean breeze is gentle... the waves are echoing sounds into the air! It is as though all of creation is anticipating the excitement of a new beginning!

That is what our Father has for us every day... a new beginning! A new fresh day, full of promises that He wants to fulfill for His children. What an awesome way to live every day! A day of anticipation, a day of wonderment, a day of seeing our Father do amazing and wondrous things for us each day! We are truly blessed to live as believers every day we awaken to the love of a heavenly Father... a Father waiting to fill our lives with Himself!

As you walk into the summer season, meditate on these things. Commit to taking more walks on the beach to see the wonderful world your Father has created. Commit to taking more quiet moments with Him to see what He has for us. It is an exciting way to live, anticipating the incredible moments with the Maker of all creation! He is your heavenly Father just waiting for you to visit with Him. Show up! He is there in each day of life!

Habakkuk 1:5 -- "He is doing awesome and wondrous things in your day, that even if I told you you would not believe it!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, there seemed to be no end to the ocean as I looked across the horizon of waves. But I knew there is an ending just as there is a beginning.

The promise that God makes a thing beautiful in His time necessarily indicates that there are unpleasant moments. Beginnings are generally tinged with some adventurous excitement and discovery, and yet they are also full of unknowns and uncomfortable adjustments.

During the middle times, mundane toil can overwhelm and dishearten. However, if the focus is God, wonderful, sustaining grace -- such as patience and endurance -- develop.

It is in the end -- in the bittersweet of looking back -- that you can see the true beauty of the journey.

Wherever you are on the path today, look for the beauty in it. From beginning to end, God makes it lovely.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 -- "He has made everything beautiful in its time."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a puppy dig into the sand chasing a sand crab. The more he dug, the deeper the little sand crab buried himself. The puppy could not dig him out!

That is the way we are sometimes with our problems in life. We keep thinking we alone can dig ourselves out. But instead, we become more buried with the challenges of life because we do not turn to the one who is able to solve any problems we have. We dig, we struggle, we work diligently to fix things, when in reality, we need to come and give the issues to Jesus. He will take our problems, give us the wisdom or patience, whichever we need at the time, and show us the way out! What a way to live, going to Him with every detail of life.

Today as you walk your seashore of life, determine that you will go to Him before digging yourself into a deeper hole, like the puppy did. He will show you the way out... and you can in turn, rest in your Father's love and wisdom! He is the problem solver for life! Give it to Him today.

Psalm 62: 1-2 -- "Truly my soul silently waits for God, from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the summer sun was hot against my skin. I came to a place that had a small tree that provided some shade, and all of a sudden the beating of the sun was no longer unbearable... the shade was soothing to my soul.

Today, what is the battle that is beating against you? Is it emotional turmoil? Is it financial challenges? Is it health issues? Is it wondering where God is in your life? These are questions that have one answer... and that is Jesus. He says He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly far above all you could ever ask or think... whatever that might be? He is there with the provision you need! You have His Word for whatever need you have!

As you walk this summer, walk in the shade of His Word. This is the only way to keep the heat of life from beating you down, making you ineffective in life! He is your provision. He is the cooling shade of life here on the earth! Run to the shade of His love and provision today!

Psalm 64:10 -- "The righteous shall be glad in the Lord and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a small little moth struggling to get out of a web that had overtaken him on the shell lying on the beach. It was sad to watch him struggle without being able to get free from the trap.

I thought of how we struggle daily to get free of thoughts that hold us captive. We get caught up trying to "figure it all out", this life we live today. When we peer into the future and try to plan for every possibility, we ignore our Father who is our constant companion that provides us with each moment of life. We forget to let Him hold us in His hand, and constantly feed us as we walk our life out, having confidence that He is able to take care of us. What a way to live... knowing He is there for us, and will never ever leave us! He can take us through and get us to the place He has planned for us from beginning to end.

Today, as you walk you seashore of life, lay down your life and give Him control. Take His hand, and let Him take you where He has for you. He can handle it! Stop struggling and let Him bring you out of the place of entrapment of the mind! He is waiting for you.

Psalm 62: 5 -- "My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, a palm leaf that had been shredded lay on the beach. It was dried out, separated from the life of the tree it once belonged to.

I thought of how we are often broken by the waves of life when we become separated from the tree of Life Himself, Jesus. When life's storms come at us and separate us from our Father it is really the time we need to cling to Him most.

Isn't it amazing that God wants to prove Himself to you? He knows there will be situations that you are not strong enough to handle, and He wants you to fully trust in Him as your defender.

Has some recent incident exposed an area of your weakness? Are you discouraged because it goes to the heart of who you want to be? Be encouraged that it is a phenomenal opportunity for God to show you His power.

Give your heart to Him completely during this summer, and receive His strength. Not only will you have all the power you need, but you will also have proof of God's faithfulness.

Deuteronomy 3:24 -- "O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness, and your mighty hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do do such works and mighty acts as yours?"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a lone little sandpiper wander from the flock of his family. He seemed to be out of place and wandering in circles.

After great victories, defeats and even during times of waiting, you will sometimes feel far from God, perhaps even unworthy of His presence.

It can happen when you have not spent any time with Him. Sometimes you will feel that way when you have been serving Him faithfully, but the work has replaced Him as your focus.

Yet no matter how far from God you feel, He is really only one turn away -- the move your heart makes back to Him. His arms are always outstretched toward you, and He wants you to realize that He always wants you back.

Today, run to His open arms. You'll be glad you did.

Psalm 139:7 -- "Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence?"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus, it is muggy, humid and overcast... and the wind is blowing the sand into piles along the beach, changing the calm quiet beach into a messy windblown sight.

In this summer season, as we reflect on Jesus, let's watch and see the changes He is making in our lives. He tends to change our lives when He interrupts our plans with His wind. It is amazing to see how often we respond to these changes with resistance. That seems to always be our first response to change... resistance. Why? Because none of us like change. We become accustomed to the way things are. We get too comfortable and when He comes along and requires change, it doesn't always "feel" good and we say no, or we take our time and think we can do it our way! We can miss His perfect plan when we hesitate too long! His Holy spirit is always leading to a higher level of living, and we need to learn to flow with Him.

As we have time to reflect on our lives in the summer season, during your relaxing time on vacations at the beach, take time to see where you are with Him. What is it that He is asking you to change? It may just be a simple attitude, or the way you respond to others, but nevertheless, He is always moving us towards Him. Let's be aware of that voice leading us into His image, and move when He speaks.

Exodus 15:25 -- "There He tested them."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the water seemed to be raging a little after the storm of yesterday. But the beauty of the ocean never ceases to amaze me, no matter what state it is in... there is a peace in knowing it is always there!

Just as we know the ocean is always there... it won't be dried up one day when I go to walk. It is for sure -- it is there. He put it in place and it is there, doing exactly what He put it there for... providing life for the world of creatures that live in it every day. It is there, providing a beautiful vacation place for families to come and enjoy! It is there for life -- and for the abundant life we have available to us every day! We can count on our God. When He becomes the center of our life, He is there every day, when there are storms and when there is peace!

Today as you walk your seashore of life, make sure the one thing you have in place is your relationship with Him. He is the sure thing that you can count on every day when you awake, no matter what state you find yourself in. Put Him at the center of your heart today!

John 14:6 -- "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

As I walked the seaside today with Jesus, a tiny little sandpiper was hiding under a palm leaf on the beach. It made me think of how the grace of God covers us every day, just as this little creature was being covered.

Grace is God's power coming into your situation to do for you what you cannot do for yourself. Once you understand grace, you must grow in learning how to receive it in every situation. Trusting God fully is something you grow into -- the more you trust Him, the stronger you are spiritually. You learn to trust God by doing it. You grow in grace by continually putting forth your faith in God and receiving His grace in situations that are difficult or impossible for you.

If you are struggling with something right now in your life, ask yourself honestly if you are putting your faith in God that His grace will meet the need. Today as you walk your seashore of life, decide to walk in His grace!

2 Peter 3:18 -- "But grow in grace and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and to the day of eternity."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I saw the richness of the ocean that feeds all of God's creatures that live there. I then thought of how our Heavenly Father has put all we need to be fed spiritually and physically here in the earth.

One of the most important aspects of seeing ourselves God's way involves developing a prosperous mind-set. Understand, God has already equipped you with everything you need to live a prosperous life and to fulfill your God-given destiny. He planted "seeds" inside you filled with possibilities, incredible potential, creative ideas and dreams. But you have to start tapping into them.

You've got to believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have what it takes. God created you to excel, and He's given you ability, insight, talent, wisdom and His supernatural power to do so. This morning, God has everything you need. Enter into the joy of the Lord and be faithful to use all He has given you.

Ephesians 1:3 -- "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, my heart felt peaceful and sure... knowing that the God of the universe is in full control of His ocean and every creature in it! What an awesome God to be able to manage the ocean and keep balance with all of its creatures and keep the ocean boundaries defined as well.

Knowing Him, gives you peace that never leaves you even in the storms of life. He wants each of us to make our total focus on Him. He wants to the be the very center of our thoughts, our actions, our very being! It is so easy to get out of balance in life... to start thinking on other things, to worry about tomorrow, to be caught up in anxiety. But He says, "He is our peace." He is able to hold us steady even in the storms of life, just as He holds the ocean within it's boundaries! That is amazing!

Today as you walk your seashore of life, walk with Him and know that you can have peace that holds you above the storms. He is the only one that is able to do that... none other! Let Him come into your heart and give you peace that can only come from Him!

2 Thessalonians 3:16 -- "Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, it was right after a quiet gentle summer rain shower. The sun came back and was shining brightly on the water when all of a sudden two rainbows appeared... that were completely across the water -- not half a rainbow -- but two complete rainbows!

What a confirmation that He has all things in order. He has promises in place, that will not change no matter what we may be going through here on the earth! He is still there... the same today, yesterday and forever! He does not change. We do, but He never changes and never does not make His promises good! If He said it, it will come to pass! That is His Word that we can stand on every day, and He gave us the rainbow as a sign of His covenant with us. He is a God of His Word... and what a wonderful promise that is!

Today as you walk your seashore of life, put your life in His hands and know you can trust Him totally. He will not fail you, and He will not leave you! He is a God of His Word!

2 Corinthians 1:20 -- "For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, and watched the sunrise, my heart was filled with hope for the future.

The word filled may not exactly portray your condition at the beginning of day, or even the end of the day. Perhaps drained is a better description of how you have been emptied of energy, creativity and even patience.

Yet is is precisely when you have reached the end of your own resources that God begins to fill you with His. He shows you that He sufficiently supplies what you lack and satisfies your deepest yearnings.

It is His desire to fill you with hope -- the knowledge that you will have joy and peace when you trust His help in every circumstance. Today as you walk your seashore of life, be filled with Him and enjoy your day. He will surely satisfy your soul.

Romans 15:13 -- "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I noticed a little sandpiper with a wounded wing that dragged along on the sand as he followed the shoreline. I prayed for him and thought of how tender God is with our wounds and how He carries us.

You know how it is when you break a toe or bruise a muscle. You favor, protect it from further injury, making sure no one touches you in that tender spot. The same is true for us emotionally. You are very guarded where those areas of hurt are concerned, careful not to let anyone near those places.

However, it is important to understand God's character when dealing with the fragile, vulnerable issues of your life. How easy it would be to finish breaking a reed that is bent in two? Or to put out a wick that is only smoldering? Most of us would not think twice about it.

Remember as you walk along your seashore of life today, God is gentle and kind. He would never hit you where it hurts. Rather, He will tenderly nurse your fragile issues so you can be healed and made whole again. What an awesome God we serve!

Isaiah 42:3 -- "A bruised reed He will not break and a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I found a small body of water isolated from the ocean. It was filled with tiny fish, swimming everywhere.

I pondered on the fact that those fish were separated from the larger body of water that gave life to every creature in the ocean. These tiny fish would eventually be captured for bait, or they would not be able to grow into the larger fish they may have been one day.

I related it to the fact that if we become separated from the "Body of Christ," we will not become all we are created to be. We will not reach our full potential as Christ has planned, because we will become separated and cut off from the body that is alive and growing. This is where we will flourish... as a part of "His Body" ...not separated and isolated from the living organism of The Church.

Today, make sure you do not become isolated from other believers, from your spiritual connections that give you love and support daily. This is His will -- that we stay connected to the life giving vine! God has planned a whole body to fulfill His purposes in the earth! You are that body -- stay connected!

John 15:4 -- "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."
