As I walked the seaside with Jesus, the dolphins were playing in the water... jumping high out of the water... higher than I had seen them before! What a wonderful sight -- it reminded me that Jesus wants to take us higher in our faith daily!

In Matthew 9, after the two blind men told Jesus they believed He was able to heal them, the Bible says, "Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, it shall be done to you and their eyes were opened." Notice, it was their faith that brought them the healing.

What are you believing? Are you believing to go higher in life, to rise above your obstacles, to live in health, abundance, healing, and victory? You will become what you believe. You don't have to figure out how God is going to solve your problems or bring it to pass. That is His responsibility. Your job is to believe. Your faith will take you over every obstacle in life.

Matthew 17:20 -- "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.'"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I had the company of a little sea gull following me along the beach. We walked in peace, knowing God has everything under control in our lives.

What about you my friend? Are you at peace with your life today, knowing your heavenly Father has the universe in His hands? Do you know He has a plan for your life, and it will come together as you walk by faith?

We are created to be faith creatures, not worry creatures... but it seems to me that we all know how to worry, but not so much how to believe and trust our Father to work all things together in our lives for our good. If He says He is working for us to bring good things into our lives, we can only receive these good things by faith! Faith is what moves our Father, not worry -- so relax and believe today that He is for you and He is bringing that plan into being! Today, walk in peace along your seashore of life, and trust Him. He will bring your desires to pass in the correct time! Trust Him, and be at peace today!

Romans 8:28 -- "All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I started one way... then felt led to walk the opposite way on the beach. It was my decision to walk whichever way I chose... and God let me choose the way.

Understand this: God will help you in life, but you cast the deciding vote. If you choose to stay focused on negative elements in your life, if you focus on what you can't do and what you don't have, then by your own choice you are agreeing to be defeated. You are conspiring with the devil by opening the door and allowing destructive thoughts, words, actions, and attitudes to dominate your life.

However, if you will get into agreement with God, if you will focus on your possibilities, your faith can cause God to show up and work supernaturally in your life. But it is up to you. It depends on your outlook. Consider this: you are today what you believed about yourself yesterday. And you will be tomorrow what you believe about yourself right now. That is your choice.

Isaiah 7:9 -- "If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched the sand pipers feeding on the sand. They come expecting to be fed each morning, never leaving unsatisfied, never expecting to leave hungry.

Our expectations wield a tremendous power in our lives. We don't always get what we deserve in life, but we usually get no more than we expect: we receive what we believe. Unfortunately, this principle works as strongly in the negative as it does in the positive. Many people expect defeat, failure, and mediocrity, and they usually get it.

But you, my friend, can believe for good things just as easily as you can expect the worst. The key is to expect good things from God. When you encounter tough times, ask God for wisdom, and change what you expect. Even if the bottom falls out of your life, your attitude should be: God, I know that You are going to use this for my good. I believe that You're going to bring me out stronger than ever before.

Psalm 5:3 -- "Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I found a sand dollar that was beautiful and fully formed. It was as though my Father laid it on the beach just waiting for me... such favor from above.

When you live favor-minded, you'll begin to see God's goodness in the everyday, ordinary details at the grocery store, at the ball field, at the mall, at work, or on the beach. You may be out to lunch when you "just happen" to bump into somebody you have been wanting to meet. Maybe that person is someone you admire or hope to learn from, or maybe he or she is someone with whom you have been hoping to do business, but you couldn't get to them. That is not a coincidence. That is favor of God causing you to be at the right place at the right time.

When those kinds of things happen, be grateful. Be sure to thank God for His favor. Never take God's favor for granted.

Job 10:12 -- "You have granted me life and favor, and your care has preserved my spirit."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I saw the familiar little sandpiper that walks wounded. He reminded me of pain that I had experienced in the past and again, of the forgiveness that is available to each of us from our Father!

The depth of Jesus' compassion is mindboggling. As others wrongly accused and crucified Him he recognized that they did not know what they were doing. He asked God to forgive them.

It is an astounding, poignant picture, one that should resonate within your soul as you read this today.

When people hurt you, they do not understand what they are doing. They may think that they do but they could not possibly comprehend the full ramifications of hurting someone that God loves.

So today, forgive as Jesus did -- with compassion and understanding. Because you recognize that in doing so you set yourself and the one who hurt you free.

Luke 23:34 -- "Jesus prayed, 'Father, forgive them; they don't know what they are doing.'"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the ocean sparkled like diamonds, the sand was as smooth as silk, the flowers and palms brilliant with the glory of the sun shining through the leaves.

When I see the beauty we have to enjoy on this earth on certain days at the beach like today, it is almost hard to fathom the beauty we will experience in heaven. But how much more glorious will it be than anything we can imagine here on this earth! It is going to be so overwhelming when we see it! I just let my mind wander at times to try to see what our Father has promised for those who follow Him to heaven! What a promise of life and glory with Him we can be assured of! The beauty, the glory, the peace... who would want to risk missing that! His word says He has prepared these things... so let's never stray from that journey with Him.

Today as you walk your seashore of life, know that nothing we have here can compare to what is to come... and be ready for Him to come for us any day! Don't miss it!

John 14: 2-3 -- "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the sand was piled up in batches from the storm that had washed the beach overnight. It was more erupted than usual... like our lives become sometimes from the daily storms that seem to overtake us.

But I remembered how Jesus told Peter to keep his eye on Him, as we walked toward Him on the water. Peter was fine until He took his eyes off Jesus. He then began to be overcome by the waves of the ocean. That is where we go wrong... we take our eyes off Jesus and begin to look at the circumstances around us. We then become distracted, unfocused and unable to move forward because of the worries and fears of the storms we face. The storm becomes bigger than our Father who created the storm.

Today as you walk your seashore of life, keep your eyes on the maker of the storm, not on the storm around you. He will keep you walking above the waves of life and is there with His hand extended to hold you steady. Walk toward Him today and keep your peace! Stay focused and overcome!

Mark 4: 39 -- "Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still." And the wind ceased and there was a great calm."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, it seemed noisy with the seagulls being unusually louder than normal. The quiet I usually enjoyed was almost overshadowed with the noises of the creatures flying around in the sky above.

I thought of how our emotions can sometimes take over our spirits and we become loud clanging cymbols, speaking with unkind and harsh words. The adrenaline rushes and suddenly we are no longer in control of our words! We speak out of hurt, wanting to lash out to hurt others!

Have you been there? Have you experienced the flood of remorse -- wishing you could retract your words because of how disrespectful and hurtful they are? Perhaps you even imagined that your tirade damaged your relationship with God.

Fear not -- God is unmoved and He is still with you. You see, God knows what is in your heart and where the words come from -- hurt in your heart! His main goal is to heal you. God is strong enough to bear what you say, and bring healing to your heart that you will be able to speak in love, just as He does in His words to us.

Psalm 73:21-23 -- "When I became embittered and my innermost being was wounded, I was a fool and didn't understand... yet I am always with you."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the gentle wind touched the waves and made tiny white caps along the shoreline. Beautiful white sea gulls graced the waves as they touched down time and again to eat from the sea.

Jesus is calling us today to come sit with Him... to eat at the table He is preparing before us. He is waiting to serve us with His glory, His power, His knowledge, and yet we are too busy to come sit with Him. It seems insignificant to come and sit down... we are so trained to perform, to not take the time to listen, to hear what the Spirit is saying to us today, and yet we wonder why our lives are so chaotic and upside down. We forget who has the answers for every situation life sends our way -- He is the way, He is the "only" way... to peace and life!

Today as you walk your seashore of life, take the time to enjoy His presence and hear what He is saying to you. Your needs will all be met in His presence... sitting with Him -- just as the creatures of the sea do every day... sit with Him and let Him speak to your heart and feel the calm in your spirit. He is waiting for you!

Acts 3:19 -- "...times of refreshing come in the presence of the Lord."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I came close to a beautiful flower that was even more perfect once I saw it in its fullness... what a perfect creation it was.

I related that to the same way that we are once we come close to you Lord. It is indeed an interesting paradox that the closer you grow to God, the less convinced you become of your own goodness. That is because as your acquaintance with Him increases, the more He reveals what you could be -- the excellent person He is making you into... just like that flower!

And the greater your feelings of unworthiness at aspiring to His wonderful character, the more He assures you that the seeds of true godliness have taken root in you and are evidenced by your humility. Part of God's goodness is how He develops you into the very best you can be. So today, praise Him for providing every tool you need to get there.

2 Peter 1:3 -- "His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the beach is coming alive again as the new season approaches... more color, more people on the beach, much more activity!

The Lord is taking us into a new season, a season of fullness, a season of abundance. You can see it everywhere you look. The trees are bursting forth their new leaves. The flowers are laden with blossoms in their rich colors! He is spraying His heavenly paintbrush on everything as we prepare for the new thing He is doing in the earth!

What has been dry, will be rivers flowing forth. What has been crooked will be made straight! He is taking us on a new path in this season... so be prepared and watch what the Lord is doing. He is coming soon! Don't be caught off guard, occupied with other things... expect Him to come for His bride!

Today as you walk your seashore of life, look up and see His glory coming on the earth! He is there, preparing new things for His children. Let's be ready and expecting to see His face in this season!

Isaiah 43:19 -- "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall yet not know it? I will even make a way I the wilderness, and rivers in the desert!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I felt as though He was reaching down from heaven to say "I love you." His love seemed to cover the ocean today... with a fullness that was undeniable.

Remember who you are: you are God's cherished loved one. You are fully accepted and completely cared for. Keep in mind the privilege bestowed on you. You are given an instant audience whenever you call upon the throne of heaven.

It is important that you keep these great gifts in mind so that you do not lose heart or feel alone. Your mighty God is close to you and is always securing your way and constantly available to you.

Today, allow that truth to fill you with joy. Ask God to reveal His presence to you and to help you understand how awesome He really is. And never, ever forget that He is there.

Deuteronomy 4:7 -- "What great nation is there that has a god so near to it as is the Lord our God whenever we call on Him?"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched the pelicans on a wire... trying to balance themselves with one of them moving about doing his own thing. The other two were totally disgusted with the one wayward pelican.

That is how we are at times in life... we get our act together, everything in place -- all calm and organized -- and then along comes one of these wild little friends that seems to just be out there. They want to do everything, be in all things, and accomplish everything in one day. Have you ever had a friend like that!

Sometimes I think it is good, because we all get in ruts and become mundane with life! But our Father in Heaven says to live life to the fullest! So we have to make room for these totally wild little creatures of life to enter our space and stretch us further... even if it is an aggravation to us.

So laugh with Jesus today, when He sends you one of these unique little friends... and let them stretch you and get you out of the rut you may have found yourself in. Look out -- that little pelican may be entering your life today!

John 10:10 -- "I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the waves were treacherous... with white caps topping every wave. It made me wonder what we do when we get in the storms of life?

How does one avoid being pitched by storm-driven waves? Surely a deep understanding of the ocean and a sturdy, seaworthy vessel are the best tools to combat the onslaught.

This is true for the person who desires to sail steady on in faith.

You know what it is to have the waves of what ifs battering your trust in God's promises. Yet you also know that your storms of doubt are merely bluster and that you can learn to steer clear of them.

God is the strong vessel of your confidence. He carries you to your destination.

So today have faith. Enjoy the calm waters of believing in Him completely.

James 1:6 -- "When you ask for something, ask in faith and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm."

Today as I walked the seaside with Jesus, everywhere I looked there were two's... two seagulls, two pelicans, two tiny birds sitting on the branch of a palm. I was reminded that spring is the season for love.

In the spring we all want to be in love... so we look for love everywhere we go to fill a space that only our Father in heaven can fill. We settle for love sometimes, just to be in love... and in the end it is never what will really fill our hearts. The only true love is the love based on God's amazing love... the love that is totally unconditional, the love that never changes, the love that takes us as we are, where we are and goes the whole journey with us.

Isn't that an amazing love to have? It is available to each of us if we come to Him with receptive hearts. His love will fill our lives with joy, peace and happiness that we can never experience from any other source. His love is the love that is truly eternal! So today, open your heart and receive the love that will fill your life as you can never know from any other source. He loves you and is waiting for you!

John 15:13 -- "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you, abide in My love."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a sea gull aggravate a pelican... he kept chasing the bird as the creature was landing to scoop up the fish for his evening meal.

It reminded me of how we can aggravate one another as Christians, when we do not let the Holy Spirit lead us. We become angry, selfish... pushing one another out of the way to get our own way. We become self centered and focused only on what pleases the flesh, not being led by the Spirit. What a selfish and unloving way to live. It does not honor and glorify the Father. He says, we are to put others first... the last shall be first!

We must remember always that we are His ambassadors in the earth. Others see Jesus by how we act... by how we love them and give to them. Today as you walk your seashore of life, examine your hearts and see what others see when they see you. Do they see Jesus, or do they see you? What an awesome guideline for us to live by... that others see Him when we come into their lives.

Philippians 4:5 -- "Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near."

As I walk the seaside with Jesus today, I feel like celebrating the fact that Jesus is my reason for loving my life. I truly feel He is my rock.

Lift your voice today. Fortify yourself by singing about the goodness of God that you count on -- even as everything around you seems to deteriorate.

Forget the things that are not working, they do not tell the whole story. Rather, the greater realties are His power and wisdom, which make a pleasant way for you.

Realize that the words you speak out to God in praise return to you, resonating within you to gladden your heart and lift you up.

As you walk with Jesus on your seashore of life, rejoice in God because His help is on its way and because He is invigorating you for the heights ahead. No matter what is fruitless or fails -- celebrate. Surely He will help you.

Habakkuk 3:17-18 -- "Olive trees may be fruitless, and harvest time a failure . . . but I will still celebrate because the Lord God saves me."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I felt more like running than walking. I felt such an energy serge from the Holy Spirit that my spirit was running.

I was reminded that certain things in life cannot be done halfheartedly. You are either committed to it, or you are not. Without passion, it is not worth attempting.

Paul encouraged believers to devote themselves to God as runners dedicate themselves to winning a race. The marathoners trained by disciplining their diets and bodies and focusing on the finish line. They did it to win, and they gave every ounce of their strength and passion to achieve the goal.

Today, you are challenged to commit yourself wholeheartedly to God. Train by disciplining yourself and focusing on Him. With dedication like that, you are definitely a winner.

1 Corinthians 9:24 -- "In a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win."

April 9, 2010

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I thought of how He walked along the seashore and taught the Word to His disciples... and now how we are to teach others the Word of God.

Paul had a vision for spreading the good news throughout the world. However, he knew that he could not do it alone and that its advancement could not end with His death. So he inspired others to carry on the work and train others to continue it after them. In that way, the gospel spread as wildfire sweeps throughout a forest.

Today, know you are a part of something that is bigger than you are. Yet you play a critical part of its continuance. Like a runner passing a baton in a relay, you are to pass on the wisdom you received from your mentors to the next generation. So be deliberate about teaching others your faith.

2 Timothy 2:2 -- "The things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a child working feverishly at a sand castle. He was determined to finish the project as he carried bucket after bucket to the work of the castle.

I thought of how we so often think it is our "works" that matter to God. We sometimes get lost trying so hard to "do the work". The ultimate purpose for our life is not to do good works, be a great employee, or be the best parent, or even be happy, even though those are all excellent pursuits.

Our true goal is to be like Jesus, because He meets our greatest needs and His character is the utmost goal we can aspire to. When we seek Him, everything else we require is provided for us. And all our other pursuits benefit as well.

Today as you walk you seashore of life, let us commit ourselves to know Jesus and be wholly connected to Him. Become like Him through prayer, the lifegiving truths of the Bible, and serving as He would. No other goal would do us -- or Him -- justice.

Philippians 3:10 -- "My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, my heart is overwhelmed with the love I feel in my heart! I could feel His presence so real -- following me along the shoreline as I shared my thoughts with Him.

Daily as we walk with Him, He is forever there. Isn't that a wonderful thought to know He is forever with us... no matter where life may take us... or what the challenges may be! He is there... He is there! It seems when we struggle and worry, we forget that we have the King of the Universe with all knowledge, all power, all peace, available to us just by asking and acknowledging His very presence in our lives. We are anxious and worry over things He never meant for us to carry.

Today as you walk your seashore of life, let Him take over and direct you. He knows the way when we don't. He sees the future when we are in a fog. His very presence will bring the peace that you are desperately seeking through the challenges of life. He is the answer to every need! Receive it today.

2 Corinthians 13:11 -- "Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace and the God of love and peace shall be with you."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, a bride was on the beach talking with her director planning the wedding to come. It would be held on the beautiful seashore during the evening sunset... what a glorious event it would be.

As I thought of the bride and how excited she was, I thought of how excited we should be that the bridegroom -- Jesus -- is coming soon for His bride -- the church, as well. We should live every day as though we are that bride, getting ready to be joined with our Father once and for all, as we live each day! What a glorious thought as we go through this journey of life we have been given!

Today as you walk your seashore of life, prepare for the wedding that is coming! The bridegroom is coming for us... and we don't want to miss the event. You are invited to come and must be prepared in your heart. Today, think of Him, and prepare your life to be always with Him in heaven.

Revelation 22:17 -- "And the Spirit and bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."

April 5, 2010

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the beach is covered with people and busyness that has been absent during the quiet winter months. The activity seems to take away from the wonderful solitude that has resided for months along the sandy seashore... with no one there to steal the peace.

I have to remind myself that even during the busyness of life, His presence is still there... among the problems, the craziness that seems to rule our lives on a daily basis. I know God has given us peace that resides in our spirits, no matter what circumstance we find ourselves in. Sometimes we become distracted because of the busyness of the day or the demands of the moment... but He is still there waiting for us. When we are worried or anxious, we can always turn our thoughts back to Him. He is the giver of peace that makes no sense in most cases... but then He said, He would give us a peace that passes all understanding.

Today as you walk your busy seashore of life, wherever that may be, remember to turn to Him in your thoughts and heart, and let His peace reside in your soul. He is that peace we need to let reign and rule daily! His peace is the only peace that will override everything we come against in this life!

Colossians 3:15 -- "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts... and be ye thankful."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, a tiny little sandpiper was slowly following along after others that seemed to be running swiftly ahead of him. I thought of us on those days we seem to be lagging behind others in life.

It is on those days when you feel as if your life lacks luster it should have, or when you are overcome by the commonness of your life, that you must remember where your true brightness comes from.

If you are doing what you know is right, then you are indubitably illuminated in a manner too precious for words, because it is God shining through you.

You will not know how brightly you reflect Him, because that could hinder the humble, gentle spirit He is creating in you. Yet when you are serving God, His glory radiates from you, and surely that is a light that is never overcome by darkness.

Isaiah 49:3 -- "The Lord said to me, "You're my dear servant, Israel, through whom I'll shine."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the sun is dancing on the water making it look like an ocean of diamonds. His presence is flooding the seashore as the waves gently move in and out with the flow of the tide.

His presence is so real in our lives, when we finally give in and let Him take control of the details of our lives. We have been taught to "be in control", to "do it our way", and to "be our own person". Yet the Father says to submit and give Him control. Release control and put Him first... then we will have everything we need. What a contrast way to live -- to let someone else tell you every detail, direct every step. It is no wonder we have such a hard time learning to submit and obey! But what a glorious way to live! He is always looking out for our best interest... and it is such a blessing once we learn to let Him drive the bus of our lives!

Today as you walk your seashore of life, step back, take a breath and release control of your life to Him. Walk with Him leading the way and see the peace that He will bring to your life. It is amazing -- and a glorious way to live! Be brave today -- let go and let God!

Proverbs 3:6 -- "In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

April 2, 2010

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I picked up a tiny smooth stone that was white in color and shaped like a pearl. It reminded me of the pearl of great price that we are to our Father, who gave up everything to purchase that one precious pearl... His bride, the church.

What a glorious thought -- to know we have had everything forever taken care of in this life on earth as we journey toward heaven. Today, we need to stop and recognize that we have been set apart and prepared to be partakers in eternity with our Father who loved us so much that He gave everything to purchase the field with the pearl hidden in it. We are His treasure in the earth... the pearl of great price.

Today as your walk your seashore of life, walk with confidence, knowing you are loved and on this day He was crucified and gave up His very life for you and me -- that we might forever and a day be with Him. Walk reverently today, giving Him place in your heart. Today, walk with love for those who have not yet come into this place of grace... pray for them and draw them in with love for your Father! Love as He loves, with all our hearts and know you are a pearl of great price!

Matthew 13:45, 46 -- "Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls; Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the sun rose gently and softly showering the ocean waves with the gentle whisper from the Father -- good morning my child.

Isn't it amazing that on the first day of every month we have the opportunity to begin again. Actually, every morning a new beginning is available for us -- as our Father awakens us each day with a wonderful sunrise! He begins each day greeting us with His glorious sun that rises out of the ocean, to display His glory over the waters! What a sight to see! He is there waiting for us when we arise and come to Him.

As we rush into our day today, let us not forget to take those first moments to say good morning to our Father in heaven that never slumbers or sleeps but waits for us to be with Him. The day, the month, the weeks, that begin first with Him are always the most productive, the most peaceful, the most restful -- even in our busy times of life! Put Him first on your agenda today and see what He has for you! After all, we are commanded to seek Him first -- and then everything else will come.

Run to Him this first day of April and see what He has waiting for you. I promise you will find the joy you are searching for... it is in Him!

Matthew 6:33 -- "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you."

Blessings and peace,
Sherron
