As I walked the seashore with Jesus today, I watched the sandpiper walking beside me. He started one way, then turned and started the other way. It seemed as though the little creature could not make up his mind which way to go.

We are like that with God sometimes... either God is the almighty Creator of the universe who can help you, or He is not. Either God can raise the dead and likewise bring your hopes and dreams to life, or the foundational claims of the Bible are false.

Sometimes it can feel like there is a great deal of gray area between believing God and not. However, halfway trusting Him and having a backup plan will usually cause more heartaches and confusion rather than peace and serenity.

Today, as you walk your seashore of life, if you have been struggling with whether to have faith in God or not, realize that it is time to make up your mind. Have confidence in God, because He has never let anyone down.

1 Kings 18:21 -- "How long will you halt and limp between two opinions?"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, there is a continual refreshing in my spirit -- the air is cool, the sand is soft, the waves are crisply lashing on the sand. The sky is bluer, and the clouds seem whiter as the fall season of rest arrives. What an exciting time to be alive -- a time for new adventures with our Lord.

As I sat meditating by the beach, even the sea gulls seemed to be taking additional liberties as I watched them land in the pool and enjoy the water while no one was around. All of the vacationers have left the ocean, and now the sea gulls have been given free access to enjoy the gift of the swimming pool without being interrupted. It was so amazing to watch them as they chirped and talked to one another!

It is a new season for all of us as we listen and watch what our Father is about to do in the earth. We have been given access to all He has and we are free to walk in it today! Are you going to stay in the sameness you have always had, or will you be like the seagulls and take advantage of the freedom you have been given... freedom to the keys of the Kingdom, freedom to have all your Father has planned for you.

As you walk your seashore of life today, pick up the keys to the inheritance your Father has waiting for you! Get ready to walk into the greatest time of your life! He is waiting for you... it belongs to you this day... this season! Possess the land! It belongs to you!

Joshua 1:6 -- "Be strong and of good courage, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give to them."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, my mind seemed to be wandering... just in an aimless direction as I was mesmerized by the waves lapping on the beach.

I thought of our minds, how they are similar to a computer in your brain that stores every thought you've ever had. That's encouraging when you're trying to find your car keys, but it is not such a good thing when you consider the amount of smut, foul language, ungodly concepts and other negative input with which we are inundated every day. Nevertheless, simply because a destructive thought is stored in your mental computer does not mean we have to pull it up and run it on the main screen of our minds. The more we dwell on the enemy's lies, the more garbage we willingly allow him to dump into our minds.

What are you allowing your mind to dwell on? Are you constantly contemplating negative things? How you view life makes all the difference in the world -- especially for you. Today, think His thoughts and your life will be changed! Think on the good things God has placed in your life every day... peace, joy, health, love, family, friends to share life with. He has given us all things to enjoy our lives daily!

Proverbs 23:7 -- "For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a beautiful day be created as the sun rose out of the ocean with the glorious colors of heaven surrounding the clouds, sparkling and dancing on the water. It made me so thankful that my Father loves me enough to create a new day every day just for me to enjoy.

It is customary to seek God when you're hurting and need His intervention -- but how often do you simply communicate your thankfulness to Him?

My friend, we should show appreciation to God in every situation because it helps you rightly refocus your attention on Him. Articulating your gratefulness strengthens your love for Him and also refreshes your soul.

So stop what you are doing right now and praise God. Express your gratefulness to Him for all the loving ways He has provided for you. Thank Him for the good He is bringing out of your most difficult situations and the blessings He is creating that you cannot yet see. Then just worship Him for who He is. See how wonderful it feels! And do it often!

Psalm 136:3-4 -- "Give thanks to the Lord of lords. His love continues forever. Only He can do great miracles."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, it seemed gloomy as the sky was covered with gray clouds, and no sunshine peeking through. But I could remember those days with the sun shining gloriously! That is how we feel sometimes when our dreams seem lost or forgotten. We have to have something good to remember and think on. When God's people went into captivity in Babylon, they kept their hopes up by remembering their capital city of Jerusalem. Thoughts of returning to Jerusalem motivated them to persevere and not succumb to despair.

Friend, when you lose sight of your dreams, your life can become drudgery. In fact, if you're struggling today, you may have forgotten the vision God has given you. Yet you should never get so discouraged by your circumstances that you disregard His promises.

Whenever you lose your passion for life, realize it's either because you've stopped pursuing your dreams or because you've forgotten that it's God who empowers you to achieve them. So today get back on track by remembering.

Psalm 137:6 -- "May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not consider Jerusalem my highest joy."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched the dogs running on the beach chasing the seagulls. They were free to run and play... I felt free as well, knowing I was free from my past... free from sin. Isn't that a wonderful feeling -- to be free?

Do you feel free today, or has the devil tied you up in knots, thinking about all your sin and mistakes made in life? You can be free today! Jesus paid the price.

Sin is a real issue for most people, but sin does not have to be a big problem. Do you know God has already made provision in His Word for your human failures? Most people make a much bigger deal out of these things than God does.

Jesus understands your human frailty because He was tempted in every way we are. Because He is your High Priest, interceding with the Father for you, you can come boldly to God's throne to receive all of His grace, favor and mercy. Remember that as you walk freely on your seashore of life today!

Hebrews 4:15-16 -- "For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weakness and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace and we may receive mercy."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched the beautiful white sea gulls soaring against the background of the blue sky, white puffy clouds and sparkling waves of the endless ocean. What perfect creatures they are.

And then I thought of myself... totally unperfect. Then who is fit for heaven? What does it take to be close to God? Psalm 15 says that you must be blameless, virtuous, and truthful, and never speak badly of others. You must never accept money that comes from taking advantage of others, you must keep your oaths, and you must never do any wrong.

Does this sound unfeasible? In a sense, it is supposed to be. Your failings were meant to show you that it is impossible for anyone to make himself or herself fit for heaven. That is why you must depend on Jesus to make you worthy of His house through His death and resurrection. He makes you completely fit. Believe in Him.

Psalm 15:1 -- "Lord, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill?"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the beauty of the ocean was magnificent. The sun rose out of the water like a ball of fire as the Creator birthed another beautiful day of life. How awesome to watch Him create each day.

As I watched the creation I wondered what the Creator looks at as He looks down from heaven. What do you think God is looking for as His eyes gaze upon His creation? Why do you suppose God would bother to look away from the glorious beauty of His celestial home?

Some may believe that His intention is to catch us doing something we shouldn't, but that's not the case. But rather, what God is observing is something very precious to Him -- He's watching for people who are looking for Him. He's searching for seekers who know that there's more to this life than the affairs of this world.

Are you seeking God? Then He's looking down from heaven at you. And He just loves the fact that you want to know Him.

Psalm 14:2 -- "From heaven the Lord looks down to see if anyone is wise enough to search for Him."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I felt the Lord whispering in my ear... "just wait a little longer." The beach was quiet, the waves were calm -- at least I could hear Him speaking. I had been asking God to answer a prayer for what I thought seemed an eternity. But to Him it is only a moment.

In our daily lives, we don't always see things move as quickly as we want them to. We ask God for things and it seems He doesn't answer as quickly as "we want." And then we all know there are consequences to waiting. When He doesn't answer right away, we struggle with our own doubts, but we may also have to address the questions of others. They will want to know our course of action and why we are allowing opportunities to pass us by. And we may not have any answers... only the whisper of God in our ears to "wait."

In those times it will be difficult to keep waiting -- but do it anyway. Allowing God to answer will strengthen your faith. Just be patient, my friend. God will undoubtedly answer you in a way that will bring that sparkle back into your eyes... an answer that will work for your good in every way. You can count on that -- you have His Word!

Psalm 13:3 -- "Please listen, Lord God, and answer my prayers. Make my eyes sparkle again."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I stepped on a rock lying on the beach... and it caused a sharp pain that stayed with me the rest of my walk.

As I felt the pain of the stone, I thought about how as kids we used to say, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." As I have grown in the spirit, I now realize that this is not true. Sometimes the words we have spoken over us are far more damaging than sticks and stones will ever be. While physical abrasions heal, abrasions made by words can pierce the heart and fester. Years after you've forgotten they were said, abrasive words can cripple you in ways you don't even realize.

Yet God knows they are there, and He looks upon you with compassion. He sends His Word to heal you -- to root out the wounding words and restore you.

Other people may hurt you with their words, but God will never do that. He loves you too much to speak words of death into your spirit! Today, trust Him and allow His Word to do its uplifting and encouraging work in your heart!

Psalm 12: 6 -- "The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I picked up a sand dollar and it broke in my hands. It was more fragile than I thought, as I watched it crumble in my hands.

Our lives are like that -- they can change in an instant -- we can get a bad doctor's report, or be the victim of a crime; lose a job, or worse, a loved one. In that horrible, moment we experience something that leaves us reeling in pain and confusion. Perhaps our sense of stability is seriously damaged and nothing provides any security or peace.

When your world is shaken, turn to the One who is completely unwavering. No matter what's happened to you. God is still on the throne, and He is able to help and comfort you. So don't look any further -- embrace the only security that will never fail. God will surely keep you stable and strong. Trust Him.

Psalm 11:4 -- "The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord is on His heavenly throne."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a pelican desperately trying to hold onto a fish he had scooped from the ocean! It was too heavy for the bird to hold and the fish fell into the ocean waves.

As you opened this devotion today, I wonder what weight you might be trying to carry... a weight that is too much for you to carry, just like the fish was for the bird? What concern is consuming your energy and your creativity? Are you questioning God today?

First, are you asking if God can help you? Yes, the almighty God who created the universe is certainly able to handle your situation.

Second, will God help you? This question goes to God's love for you -- especially if you have messed up in some way. The answer is still yes! His love for you is unconditional, which means He will surely rescue you.

Today, rest in the confidence that God can and will work in your situation. Though it may not be in the way you expect, He will definitely come to your aid.

Psalm 6:4 -- "O Lord, deliver my life; save me for the sake of Your steadfast love and mercy."

I have heard of many who have concerns and challenges in their lives. This message, originally sent on October 15th, is worth repeating again....a word we all need to hear!

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the sea gulls were flying freely across the sparkling waves. They brought one thought to my mind -- they were totally free as they glided along the waves -- not taking thought for concerns of today or tomorrow, but were totally free.

We must learn to be that free in order to hear the Father's voice. We can't come into His presence with worry and anxiety instead of faith and peace knowing we are in His hands. In order to hear His voice, we must learn to release all our worries into His care. We must learn to entrust to Him everything that concerns us. This clears the way for us to seek His face unhindered. This sets us free from the fear that hides deep within us. When we sit quietly in His presence, His light will soak into our very being and drive out any darkness that is lodged within our hearts.

Today, accept each day as it comes to you, remembering our Father is sovereign over your life. Rejoice in this day that He has made, trusting that He is abundantly present in it. Instead of regretting or resenting the way things are in your life, know He is in all circumstances. Trust Him and do not fear. He is in control of the universe!

Psalm 118:24 -- "This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the air was cool, the breeze was blowing and the new season was fully displaying its beauty along the beach!

God has fully brought us into a new season in this time in eternity. You feel the excitement in the air... the way we walk, the way we talk. It is all about Him. Isn't that the word that should be on each of our tongues... the word He has put in our hearts, the word that brings life into any circumstance we have thought was dead! After all, He is the life bringer, the life giver and the author of our lives in the earth!

Today as you walk your seashore of life, know that you are walking into a new season with Jesus. He has such exciting things planned, things that are happening even as we speak. We should be still and listen for His whispers as we walk out our lives each day! Let's not miss one event in this life while we are here about our Father's business. He has made all things new for us to enjoy in this season! Rejoice and give Him glory today, wherever you are! It is His time.

Revelation 21:5-6 -- "And He who sits on the throne said, 'Behold I am making all things new. Write for these Words are faithful and true.' And He said to me, 'It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of water of life without costs.'"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the dark gray sky seemed to say beware... a storm is on the way, and it could be a bad one!

Danger. It is a word that raises your anxiety level because of its dire implications. Dangers threaten your life and those of your loved ones. Dangers shake your world and destroy your security. Dangers make you question everything -- especially why God would allow them.

Yet when you know God and trust Him for salvation, perils can only come so near to you because God protects your eternal destination. Though hazards may trouble you on earth, you can be confident that they won't follow you into heaven.

So don't fear the dangers. Rather, thank God that the worst that can happen is limited -- and it's nothing compared to the wonderful things He has planned for you!

Psalm 91:1 -- "Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a mother dolphin playing with her baby in the water, jumping, and enjoying the waves of the ocean! What a glorious sight to see.

I felt the love of God washing over me as I watched His creatures being examples of the Father's love. He reminded me that He loves us with an everlasting love! The human mind cannot possibly comprehend the consistency of the Father's love. Our emotions will flicker and falter in the face of varying circumstances, and we tend to project our fickle fleshly feelings onto the Father. Because of this, we do not benefit fully from the unfailing love of the Father.

He wants us to look beyond the flux of circumstances and discover Him looking back at us with love as only He can. When we become aware of His presence, we are strengthened, and made steady and strong, no matter what our circumstances may be.

Remember, He is the same yesterday, today and forever! Let His love flow into you today continually. Our need for Him is as constant as the outflow of His love for us! Be blessed by His love today!

Jeremiah 31:3 -- "The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: 'I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.'"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, a tiny sandpiper came running along the sand. It was such a young baby -- it seemed to just be exploring the new world of life.

I thought of the challenge the baby bird had to just come into the world -- as it wrestled free from its egg. It is a long, arduous process. Yet it is completely necessary because the tiny birds must become strong enough to endure conditions outside of their protective coverings.

My friend, have you likewise suffered a lengthy, difficult delay in seeing God's promises fulfilled? Understand that God doesn't make you wait in vain -- it is necessary for you to be prepared for your blessings. The longer you wait, the more precious and beautiful God's provision will be.

So count this time as one of training and favor -- because you can be sure that God is doing wonderful and important things in your life.

Psalm 102: 1-2 -- "I pray to you, Lord! Please listen. Don't hide from me in my time of trouble. Pay attention to my prayer and quickly give an answer."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched the pelicans change places of leadership as they flew over the waves... taking turns moving to the front of the line, then to the back as someone else took the lead! It was a great example of being in front -- and then moved to the back of the line.

King David knew what it was like to be a poor shepherd boy, and a wealthy king. He'd experienced what it was to have nothing and to have everything -- to be lowly and unnoticed and to have the respect and love of a nation.

Yet through it all, there was one thing that defined the worthwhile life to David -- a healthy relationship with God.

No matter how you define "the good life", one thing is certain: It's always better with God. As David discovered, possessions and power will fail to satisfy your soul, but God never will.

God can fill you with more joy and purpose than anything you can imagine. So follow Him to the best life.

Psalm 101:2 -- "I will give heed to the blameless way. When will You come to Me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the birds seemed to be singing louder along the shore... and the ocean waves were making an equally harmonious sound. All of creation seemed to be singing a song to the Creator!

Who could imagine one thing that everyone on earth could agree upon? With all of the cultures, languages, and traditions -- how could we come to an understanding about anything?

Yet we are told that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus as Lord. One day we will join hearts and hands with brothers and sisters across the world with one purpose; to praise the One who saves us. What economics, politics, and diplomacy could never achieve will happen naturally because of the extraordinary love of Jesus.

So today, anticipate the global chorus by praising Him. And thank Him that one day it will be a song the whole world will sing together!

Psalm 100: 1-2 -- "Shout praises to the Lord, everyone on this earth. Be joyful and sing as you come in to worship the Lord!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched a little fish that had floated onto the beach out of the water, struggling and flapping on the sand. Then the wave came and covered him again to carry him back into the safety of the ocean.

I thought of how we struggle when we are taken into the captivity of stillness in our lives. If we could ever learn to accept the situation and let God turn it to the best possible account. Fretting over that from which we have been removed or which has been taken away from us will not make things better, but it will prevent us from improving those which remain.

Everyone will understand the difference between the restless starling of which Sterne has written, breaking its wings against the bars of the cage and crying, "I can't get out, I can't get out," and the docile canary that sits upon its perch and sings as if it would outrival the lark soaring to heaven's gate.

No calamity will overtake us if we take it to God in prayer. It is through our trials and afflictions that God gives us fresh revelations of Himself, where we see Him face to face. So today, in your walk of life, turn your clamoring against the event that has you trapped into an opportunity to sing to your Father. Let Him turn your heart into a joyful and praising soul that will lift you to a higher level.

Ezekiel 1: 1-3 -- "As I was among the captives by the river of Chebar... the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God... and the hand of the Lord was there upon me."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the beach seemed to be at such a peaceful state. The waves were gently lapping the sand and quietly rolling back into the depths of the ocean as though Jesus Himself was whispering to me -- all is well and you are covered with my mercy forever!

Today, as you walk your seashore of life, think of the gift of God's mercy, no matter where you find yourself. What has been done in your life is done, and you need to live accordingly. If you lost your temper yesterday, quit dwelling on it. You cannot undo that so ask for mercy and forgiveness, then declare that today you will do better! It is a new day... don't start your day with issues or mistakes from yesterday tied to your shoulders. If you didn't get that promotion, declare it is still a new day and God must have something even better in store for you.

Be responsible for your words or actions and seek forgiveness for those things you have done to others, then move forward with confidence, know God has enough mercy to cover "all" your mistakes. If you have done all you can do to fix something, then you must simply leave it up to God and trust Him to be your ambassador! Release yesterday to Jesus -- receive His gift of mercy today and live your best life today... this is the only day you can live today!

1 Chronicles 16:34 -- "Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His mercy endures forever!"

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the sand seemed whiter, the water bluer, the creatures more active. The excitement of the seaside seemed to be greater than normal. It is the realization that truly every day is made new -- filled with fresh promises from our Father. Just as we are made new creatures in Him.

Some people like to remind us that "we're just poor old sinner," but we are sons and daughters of the Most High God. When we came to God, He washed away our sins (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). He made us new creatures. The Bible says, "The old things passed away; behold, new things have come" (2 Corinthians 5:17). He made us the righteousness of God.

Instead of having a poor-old-me mentality, expecting a crumb here and a crumb there, why don't you step up to the dinner table? God has a beautiful banquet in store for you. He has an abundant life for you. You have royal blood flowing through your veins. Your heavenly Father created the whole universe with you in mind.

Isaiah 25:6 On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine, the best of meats and the finest of wines.

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the air was crisp and cool touching my face reminding me that each day is a new day! Every day started with a pure heart, free of anger and unforgiveness is an exciting new chance to live life to the fullest!

Scripture instructs us to put on a fresh new attitude every morning, especially in our relationships. Don't let little things build up. Don't harbor unforgiveness and resentment. Don't allow bad attitudes to develop, even those that may seem insignificant to you, because over time that bitter attitude will build and end up causing you major problems. You have to do your best to keep your own heart free and clean, or eventually anger and bitterness will show up and affect your relationships.

Each morning, forgive the people who have hurt you. Each morning, let go of your disappointments and setbacks. Each new morning, receive God's mercy and forgiveness for the mistakes you have made, and forgive others for the hurts they have inflicted on you. Today, focus on your possibilities; focus on what you can change rather than what you cannot change.

Ephesians 4:26 -- "In your anger do not sin; do not let the sun go down while you are still angry."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, one of the walkers on the beach had brought a dish for water for his dog that had been running on the beach. He was thirsty from the heat and needed a drink of fresh water.

I thought of our thirst or lack of thirst for God. We all thirst for more of God, but if you don't know He is what you are craving, you can be easily misled. Instead, if you set your mind on seeking God -- if you give Him first place in your desires, thoughts, and choices -- your thirst will truly be quenched and you will not be led astray.

David spoke of this longing for the Lord in Psalm 42:2 saying, "My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God." You are to search after God like a thirsty man in the desert. What does a thirsty man think about? Nothing but water! He isn't concerned about anything else but finding what it takes to quench his thirst. Today as you walk your seashore of life, God is saying to you, "Here I am, seek Me, I have everything you need."

John 6:35 -- "I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry, and he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts and relies on Me will never thirst any more."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, I watched the tiny sandpiper walk in circles as though he was lost. He seemed lonely and afraid.

That is how we feel sometimes when we approach our Father -- lonely and afraid. Like most people, we may not seek God's presence when we are feeling low. Beat down, undermined, or simply exhausted, we at times question ourselves and we judge ourselves completely useless to Him.

Thankfully, God knows that this is precisely when we need Him the most, and He rushes in to comfort us. When we least expect anyone to be interested in us, God is near, even when we are crushed and brokenhearted. And it is also when we are most vulnerable and powerless that He can be strong for us and others can see Him working through us.

So today, let God comfort you. His mercy will heal your heart, and others will see His compassion.

Psalm 34:18 -- "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and He saves those whose spirits have been crushed."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the sun had risen and seemed brighter than other days. It was as If the glory of God was shining through the clouds and being magnified as it glistened on the water.

When Moses returned from meeting with God on Mount Sinai, his face shone so brightly that it astonished the Israelites. Such was the result of being in God's presence -- God's brilliance lingered on Moses' countenance.

Though your time with God may be somewhat different than Moses', the lasting effect will nevertheless be the same. God's glory will show through you. You may not notice any difference when looking in the mirror, but others will see the glow of his likeness in your spirit and character.

Every time you meet with God, it will affect you in a positive way. So spend time with Him often and let the beauty of His radiance shine through you.

Psalm 34:5 -- "They looked to Him and were radiant; their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused."

As I walked the seaside with Jesus today, the season is definitely different as the air is cool, and the beach is deserted. It is truly a new time in the year.

It is a good time to reflect on the heart within... the heart that listens to the whispers from our Father in heaven. This is the season that I find myself retreating to quiet spots, alone spots to hear what the Spirit is saying so I can be in step in the new season. I want to be ready for what our Father has prepared, and not miss anything He has for us. He is planning new things and has gone before us... isn't that exciting to know He is there already and is waiting for us to walk into our future... the incredible future He has made ready for us.

Are you prepared? Are you ready to receive all He has for you, or are you still in the last season, wondering when things are going to change! The change is here and He is moving us to a new place, a higher place in the Spirit! He is saying to us to come up to be with Him. Come to Him and receive all He has for you!

Open your heart and spiritual ears... listen for His whispers as you move into this new season! You will hear good things as you walk with your Father into the season He has made ready for you!

1 Corinthians 2:9 -- "But it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor has ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."'

As I walk the seaside with Jesus today, it is amazing to feel the body move and be co-ordinated as the creator has designed it. I am reminded that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and my assignment is to take care of this temple!

The mind is so much like the body -- what you put in it makes a difference in how it works. If you eat a lot of junk food, your health deteriorates. Similarly, if you put negative things into your mind, it acts like poison, killing your ability to have faith or live a life that is pleasing to God.

Paul's admonishment to the Philippians is for you as well. We are to fill our mind with things that are true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, and gracious. Such things affect your outlook and empower you to be the best that you can be.

Today as you walk your seashore of life, feed your mind with thoughts of God and His Word. His nourishment will never leave you feeling empty and hungry.

Philippians 4:8 -- "You'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious."

As I walk the seaside with Jesus today, I feel the love of the good shepherd wrapped around me like a soft blanket... comforting and peaceful.

In life, there are thousands of undistinguishable moments -- of grazing and sleeping, of enduring the storms and natural elements, and of toilsome employments.

Yet there are also the rare, life-changing moments -- of new pastures and intruders, of being lost and found, and of being born and dying.

The shepherd cares for his flock in all of the moments. He knows that the drudgery of the many moments can be as difficult as the ones that turn your world completely upside down.

As you walk your seashore of life today, no matter what moment you are experiencing this evening, allow God to hold you tenderly in his arms. Thank him that the wonderful comfort of his love is available to you now.

Isaiah 40:11 -- "He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart."

Blessings and peace,
